Several of you responded to this question. I have summarized or repeated those answers here for all of us to share.
Bill Colbert wants to know more about the claims that gender differences are developmental, cognitive, emotional, genetic etc. As teachers he thinks we need to discuss when the differences are most pronounced, do they ever go away, can we assess/prescribe them, and what instructional and management strategies should we utlize because of them.
Kathleen Hogan puts it simply … “I have boys!” (As educators, don’t we all?)
Amy Cunningham agrees, “As a mother of a 5 year old – this was a no-brainer. It is like a gift!”
Amy Dokken also agrees, “… I’m raising one heck of a little guy who tests me and his teachers! Hopefully this book will bring me some insight into his behavior and how I should handle it better!”
Annemarie Gallagher ditto, “I had a boy 18 months ago today, and I’m intrigued at why boys are the way they are.”
Jane Nicodemus, Her teenage stepson has caused her to wonder, “what makes him (males) tick?”
How about the rest of you? Why did you choose this book?
